As Chief Sustainable Gambling Officer at Playtech, I focus on advancing sustainable gambling practices that integrate player wellbeing with long-term business viability. I oversee BetBuddy, our award-winning AI-driven behavioural analytics platform, while coordinating cross-functional initiatives across our global operations in 20+ regulated markets. Previously, as Chief Policy Officer, I directed Playtech’s international public affairs, successfully influencing gambling legislation across multiple jurisdictions in Europe and Latin America. From 2007 to 2016, I served as Italy’s online gambling regulator, developing the first comprehensive regulatory framework for online gambling in Europe. During my tenure, Italy became the world’s second-largest regulated online gambling market. With over 30 years of experience spanning technology, regulation, and public affairs, I have consistently worked at the intersection of innovation and responsible practice. I engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders globally, having shaped regulatory frameworks and industry standards across numerous markets. My career progression from early digital transformation roles in the 1990s, through regulatory leadership, to policy advocacy, and now sustainable gambling leadership reflects my commitment to leveraging technology and policy to create positive industry change whilst prioritising consumer protection.
