Ludovico Calvi is a truly international Senior Gaming Executive and former CEO with excellent execution and analytical skills, a thorough professional leader with global sport and I-gaming industry experience – 33 years - and a solid track record of results generated from diverse and complex business scenarios.

In October 2017, Ludovico launched his own Strategic Sport Betting Consultancy Practice providing strategic, regulatory and operational consultancy services to private and public stakeholders including sport organizations, private licensed operators, governments, ministries of finance, regulators, lotteries, sport federations and law enforcement agencies. Since May 2019 Ludovico joined Bain & Co as External Gaming Advisor. Sport Betting HALL of FAME in 2021. In March 2022 he joined iPro, Inc. headquartered in Nevada, USA. Since November 2024 he joined the Entain Group Italy.

Since June 2015, he is a Member of the Global Lottery Monitoring System, today United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS) Executive Committee and in June 2017, he was elected President, and with an overwhelming majority of votes, he was re-appointed again in May 2019 for the terms 2019-2021 and 2021-2023. ULIS is the state lotteries’ mutualized monitoring system on sports betting aiming at detecting and analyzing suspicious betting activities. Ludovico contributed to the expansion of the GLMS/ULIS membership base to 50 members in 4 continents and 32 countries with operational hubs in Copenhagen, Hong Kong and Montreal. In addition, he was appointed  Member of the World Lottery Association (WLA) Sports Integrity Committee in May 2019 and Honorary President of ULIS in June 2023.

Expanding into North and South America, Ludovico was appointed a Member of the American Gaming Association Sport Betting Task Force in May 2015. The remarkable efforts by the Association Sports Betting Task Force has led to the US Supreme Court ruling declaring the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act unconstitutional, a decision that has paved the way for legalized sports betting in the U.S. Since 2018 Ludovico worked with the Brazilian Ministry of Finance to create the main Sports Betting regulatory framework (MP 846/2018), which, after 4 years led to the signing of Law 14.790, ushering in a new era for the Sports Betting and iGaming industry in Brazil. In 2019 Ludovico contributed to the launch of Sport Betting in Oregon as Strategic Gaming Advisor of the Oregon State Lottery. In March 2022 he joined iPro, Inc. headquartered in Nevada, USA and contributed to the launch of its operations in Ontario - Canada.

Ludovico has served in a number of senior executive positions in the sports betting industry, leading multi-million projects to generate profit and value for shareholders. From December 2006 to May 2016, Ludovico was Head of Betting of Lottomatica Betting Ltd (a former IGT Plc Italian subsidiary), a leading gaming operator licensed in Italy, with business across multiple segments and products.

From 2009 to 2016, Ludovico was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lottomatica Betting Ltd. As CEO, Ludovico created a new and profitable division, was accountable for profit growth achieved on all betting products, and delivered the fastest start-up in the history of European sports betting operations serving a market of 50 million current and potential customers.

From May 2013, Ludovico also held the position of Vice President, Product Marketing Betting heading GTECH Plc Betting Division across all regions, while maintaining his role as Head of the Italian Betting Business serving all segments of the betting industry; as an operator in the retail and digital space in Italy; and as a technology partner delivering B2B and B2B2C solutions.

From April 2015 to August 2017, Ludovico was also Senior Vice President, Global Product Marketing Betting at International Game Technology (IGT), following its acquisition by GTECH Plc and becoming the Global Leader in B2B Gaming (products, software and services). In this position, Ludovico executed the first combined betting group business which delivered on an integrated strategic planning cycle for innovative products, designed and promoted IGT Sport Betting products, roadmaps and services with customized turnkey solutions worldwide: Betfred, Paddy Power, Sporting Bet, Stan James, Boyles Sports (Ireland-UK), Loterie Nationale De Belgique (Belgium), Singapore Pools (Singapore), OPAP (Greece), Lottomatica (Italy), Szerencsejáték Zrt (Hungary), William HILL Spain, Marca (Spain), Pronosticos (Mexico), Polla Chilena (Chile), MGM Resorts (US).

 Before joining Lottomatica, GTECH and IGT, Ludovico spent 8 years as a strategy consultant working for Sisal Spa (Italy), successfully advising the Italian regulator in the creation and implementation of the national legal and regulatory sport betting framework.  Ludovico also stood up a new betting division within Sisal SpA.

Earlier in his career, Ludovico worked as Operations Manager at William HILL Plc (UK) delivering the startup and profitable operation of the International Sport Betting Division which led to the launch of William HILL spread betting venture – William HILL Index.
